A Visit with Family

It had been a while since Makenna had seen her Grandpa and Geneva, so we decided to take a trip to Lancaster.

Makenna was so excited to see Grandpa and Grandpa was so excited to see Makenna!

Makenna was excited to see Geneva too!

I think someone is smitten.

Grandpa was amazed to see how active Makenna is now.  She doesn't stop moving!

We were happy that Great Grandma Mattiel came to visit!

And Makenna got to see her Great Uncle Matthew and meet her Great Uncle Jonathon.

Ladies' Lunch

Grandma, Auntie Pam, Makenna and I went for a ladies' lunch.  Makenna loves ladies' lunches because she enjoys getting out of the house and socializing with people. 

On this particular day, Makenna slept through the beginning of our lunch.  And then she stayed calmly in her car seat, while I ate (She never does that.  I am usually eating with one hand while trying to keep her from grabbing knives and plates and water glasses!)

Yum!

After I ate a little bit, I took her out so she could see the sights.  I felt guilty having her trapped in that car seat!

"Look, Makenna!  What's over there?"

Straws keep her busy and are relatively safe.

The ceiling was very interesting.

When mommy's arms got tired, we played pass the Makenna.

When we went down to Escondido to visit Aunt Kathy and Angie, Makenna had her first sink bath.

She enjoyed it.

Makenna still sleeps swaddled because she has crazy arms that wake her up.

She enjoys sleeping with her feet elevated!

Sandy and Perry bought Makenna a bouncer recently.

She loves bouncing!

My First Mother's Day!

Happy Half Birthday!

Makenna is one half today!

Six month update:

We went to the doctor today for Makenna's six month check-up.  She is now 17.5 lbs and 26.75 inches long.  I have to admit I was shocked to hear that she is only 17.5 lbs.  I thought for sure she was up to 20lbs.  Obviously, her weight gain trajectory has slowed down a little.  Otherwise, she is perfectly healthy!

She's becoming such a big girl (it's making mommy a little sad!)

We went to our baby class today and had lots of fun.

The babies played with moon blankets (they're crunchy, crinkly silver blankets).

Makenna loved the moon blankets.  She especially loved eating them (surprise, surprise).

As you can see in the background, some of the other babies were terrified by the moon blankets, but not Makenna!

Makenna spent some time at the end of the day in her birthday suit.
